Food is fuel and fun in our household! We believe that every day is to be celebrated and we often include a wide array of foods to help us accomplish this.

Although food is fun, I also take the feeding of my girls very seriously. I know that nourishing their bodies helps their minds grow to their fullest potential.

Being vegetarians {and one vegan} I know that food is the fuel of life and it’s my job as their mom to make sure that they get a well-balanced diet. This often means very long shopping trips while I read the labels on each product, picking the ones that fit our needs best.

  • I’m like you – I care about what’s in my food and that my son has a healthy diet. This is a great idea to make it easier to shop smarter and quicker.

  • I get frustrated with labels that are hidden, you shouldn’t have to spend a lot of time looking for this information. So, I think this is a great idea!

  • we try to stay to the outer edges of the store. less labels to read. it’s hard, and very frustrating to have to be so careful with our food labels. wouldn’t it be nice if no one used yucky stuff in our food?

  • What a great idea and I might add, about time. Now if we could only get them to bring this to Canada. Great program.

  • This is a great initiative! I always read the labels and it can be quite time consuming. Even when I am buying regular fruits and veggies, I have to look and see if they’re organic, etc. Grocery shopping is such a chore!

  • Oh I love how easy it is to see stuff with Facts up Front. I end up having to pick up every item off the shelf to see the label on the back. I hope more companies start using this program.

  • This is great! I really love the Facts up Front idea! It is so nice to have those nutrition facts right there when you first look at a product. It really helps me to make better choices.

  • I’m glad there are brands that are going toward adding this information to the front of the labels. There are lots of people that don’t even look at nutritional facts, so this way they’re kind of faced with them and can’t claim ignorance!

  • mkids love Nutella esepcially nutella and honey sandwiches however, that is a treat and seldomly have it.

  • Great post and I had no idea that some brands are changing and putting info on the front.. I love it!!! I do try to buy very little prepackaged items, I’m funny about stuff, my son is allergic to very crazy things, very unusual things and so am i, we rather cook from scratch BUt one thing that I will never ever give up is My Nutella.. My mom will still tell you “It’s Nutella it’s healthy”…lol.. soo that is one thing from home that is my comfort food…lol When I miss home I grab a fresh bread and a bottle of Nutella and that makes me feel better, nothing wrong with that, right…lol

  • I definitely think having the nutritional fact on the front of the label is better for making good food choices. Sometimes we don’t realize how much fat is in a sweet treat or sometimes hidden in a “healthy” food. I with more companies would do this!

  • Wow, look at that cookie, yum! I get frustrated with super long labels with ingredients I have never heard of before too! This sounds really awesome!

  • I tend to read labels much more than I did in the early years of my marriage. Now it is more important that I know whats in my food.

  • I had no idea about this program but often read labels for our family. I’m so glad to see more things like this for families like ours.

  • That’s definitely a huge time saver at the store. Looking at all the labels is not an enjoyable thing to do at all. This is a great new set-up.

  • I’ve seen the trend with some of the labels having the info on the front. It really is helpful!

  • What an interesting website. Thanks for sharing. I am always looking for information about what is in our food.

  • WOW, what a time-saver!! So helpful. Also, that cookie looks amazeballs. 🙂

  • That is a timesaver! One of our local grocery stores has a system that assigns a point value that helps guide you to food that’s more nutritious . I’m all for things that help people make better decisions.

  • I’m so happy that brands are moving towards having labels that are eaiser to find and read nutrition facts. I have to watch my sodium and sugar, so this will definitely make trips to the grocery store quicker.

  • Wow, I am so happy that information is being moved to the front. IT will be so much easier to compare products standing int the store.

  • I love the Facts Up Front. For me it acts as good start to know if I’ll even grab the product to read more. I’m all about reading the labels, so for me, this is just a time saver.

  • It’s great that they’re doing this with nutritional labels. But I really wish they would do more when it comes to labeling for food allergies.

  • I really need to read more labels. My husband and I are trying to change our lifestyle and help set a good example for the boys. Thanks for the info!

  • I do believe this that Fact up Front could help me! I usually only shop the perimeter of the store, and buy healthy items.
