We had a great time on our 2 hours cruise aboard a Hornblower cruise ship!
The weather was perfect and the staff on the ship were beyond wonderful. their awesome hospitality for their guests really puts you at ease and the tips and info they offer are what make this such a fun time.
I have a couple tips put together to make your adventure awesome:
- Get in line to board early so that you can have the best option of seats. There are plenty of seats aboard the ship, but we found a favorite spot.
- We loved sitting on the far back with the open sky above us.
- Secure your seats and then head to the snack bar. Get some food and then settle in your seat for the adventure.
- Bring a sweater. Even on warm summer day, the ocean air can get chilly.
- During the break in the commentary, the captain invites guests to come into the bridge. Do it! The kids can have their photos taken and it was really fun!
We really enjoyed sailing by the Navy Ship Yard and under the Coronado Bridge. Regardless of what side you sit on the boat you still get to see the full bay because the ship turns around when it heads back offering everyone the perfect viewing angle.
The whole day was super smooth sailing starting with how easy purchasing tickets and check-in was.
Have you taken a San Diego Harbor Cruise?

Wow, this is an exciting trip! We don’t go out to seas that much but it can be an exciting one for us.
This is such a cool trip! I loved our San Diego adventure- SO much to offer families!
Sounds like a fabulous adventure! Seeing this totally make me want to go on one of those cruises. It would make a great date for me and the hubs!
Oooooh! A date option! I didn’t even think of that! I love getting out on the water as a family, but what a great idea to just have a dateventure!
We used to love heading to San Diego for a weekend when we lived in Los Angeles. Sure do miss the weather (and the IN-and-Out burgers!).
love your blog!
How exciting and fun. I would love to visit the West Coast. I have never been, but it looks so pretty out there.
Same here! I’ve never been to the west coast but it looks nice out there!
I have never taken a trip like this before and would love to. I am actually going to check out undercover tourist because I’ve seen it listed a few times already here.
San Diego is a great city! Looks like you had a great time!
Good point, about bringing a sweater because it can get chilly even on a warm day. I learned that the hard way before!! 😛
Great pictures! Travel is awesome 🙂 I’ve never been to San Diego, but if and when that cruise looks like a blast!
That looks absolutely wonderful. Love that the kids could have their photo taken on the bridge. What a memory.
That sounds like fun! I’ve never been out there but my parents have. My Mom loves the San Diego area.
