I have this wonderful feeling everything’s going my way…
Do you remember that song by Richard Rodgers? Did you know it was from 1943 {who knew it was so old?}
That was the first thing that popped into my mind when I woke up.
It was that amazingly beautiful! I think I’d almost call it warm.
There was something about the crispness in the air without the cold, like brightness of spring with the hope that early summer brings… it was just that kinda day.
Unfortunately today was designated shopping day.
You see I haven’t been shopping for groceries and other fun stuff like dog food in a couple weeks.
We needed milk and the smaller folks in my life get angry when there is no milk. So off I went.
And went I did. I stopped at 10 different stores. 11 if you include Starbucks. Thank goodness for those Startbucks gift cards I got for Christmas.
After a day of shopping I hopped into the house and asked for help unloading the “Junk In The Truck”. I found that not only a very accurate description of what I needed help bringing in the house, but also funny. I laughed alone.
I want to stop here for a second. When my first daughter was a baby I was still a bit of a name brand snob. I couldn’t bare the thought of feeding her a store brand. I thought it meant I didn’t love her enough to feed her the more expensive stuff. Then I had baby #2. A quick cost analysis made me question what the heck I was thinking. By the time baby #3 came around I was hooked on store brands. Now there have been times when it’s cheaper to buy the name brand. This shopping trip is a perfect example. But on today’s trip I save over $5 buying Target toddler food. And the Toddler loves it and she hasn’t grown an extra arm or leg. Promise.
Here’s another way to get free baby food…I also love finding new Gerber products with Try Me Free rebates! The Toddler gets to try a new product and I get it for free. Gerber rebates come really quick too!
These guys couldn’t have come at a more perfect time! Staples has the Avery Heavy Duty Binders as their free after rewards item for the next couple weeks. These are $9 each and I’ll get the whole $9 back as a Staples credit. But for me it get’s even better. Next month I have a super big event for you all. You would think that after all of this shopping I would be pooped out. And I was, but it was so nice out that we had to get out and stretch our legs. I’m telling you, the second that my husband walked in the door… we were on our way. Life is good. Yes it is.
