I had already decided one part of my challenge this year. It came to me a few weeks ago when I was listening to the news and they were talking about minimum wage. Really, I had no idea what the minimum wage here in California even was. Enter a quick swagbucks search.

$8; $8 is the minimum wage that one can be paid here in the good ‘ole CA! I calculated out how much a person would earn over the course of a year making minimum wage= $8 x 40 hours= $320 a week x 52 weeks = $16,640

I did not take into account taxes, vacation, sick pay, bonuses, unemployment, the cost of clothes, day care, or any deductions. Ha, Ha I’m just kidding with all that.

Part 1: The first part of my new challenge is to buy enough consumables as the yearly earnings of a minimum wage earner for free with coupons. This is to prove that you could make at least minimum wage by couponing. I know that you can’t pay for the necessities with coupons so there is no need to email me about this. I will be using coupons and rebates. In case there is a good deal that comes along but it cost a few dollars I’ll be sending in rebates to cover it. Some days I’ll pay out of pocket and some days I’ll make money after rebates to cover the “expensive” days. I will not be counting tax this year.

Part 2: This is the best part. I will be making 52 donations of at least $100 this year. I will aim to make 1 a week, but some weeks there will be none and some weeks 2. This will give my donations a value of at least $5,200!

Better yet!!! I’ll be video taping and posting them for you to see!

Some will be donated to schools, some to homeless shelters, some to food banks, some to individuals! Each donation will have a story to tell and I can’t wait to hear them all. I want to share just how much couponing can change lives. I’ll have a weekly {perhaps Saturday} post where you all can share your donations for the week and I’ll have giveaways too!

I can not wait to see how far I can stretch my coupons and I can’t wait to have you all follow along!

PS. Spell check says “couponing” is not a word. I disagree, infact it’s even a verb.
PSS. What are your thoughts? Do you think I can do it?
