Creating a better world through Kindness, Acceptance, and Inclusion is not only important to me, but to make the world a better place. I am so happy to partner with CustomInk to share this message.

Pete and I have always said that above all else, we want our children to be happy and kind to others. I think they go hand in hand, the more kindness you put out into the world, the happier you are. We also feel like our travels are opening the girls’ eyes to new places, people, and cultures. This is important because you have to understand the world outside your normal surroundings to be able to accept people that are different than you are. We hope that we are giving them the tools to be good bullying prevention experts and spreaders of kindness.

I know that we have all faced times in our lives where we could use a friend or someone to make us feel like we belong.  I love that more people are talking about bullying and inclusion than in the past. This is what is going to make bullying a thing of the past. So many parents are helping their children understand what kindness towards each other is important all the time.

When I heard of CustomInk’s Be Good to Each Other campaign, I knew that I wanted to be a part of it. I love that their goal is to unite people of all ages by encouraging them to take a stand against bullying by wearing custom bullying prevention t-shirts that promote kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Plus, these shirts are just all around awesome and so fun to wear with these awesome messages on them!

Our hope is that by wearing these shirts, they will encourage others to step up and take proactive steps to prevent bullying in their lives and to promote Kindness, Acceptance, and Inclusion in their communities.

I remind our girls that every day is a new opportunity to make someone else have a better day. A simple smile, really listening to someone when they are sharing, and including everyone are simple things they can do that can have a big impact.

I know that we don’t always see the outcome of our kindness and that is why it needs to come from the heart without any expectations. If we all band together, we can end bullying.

be-true-to-yourself

You can purchase your own t-shirts like we are wearing above, and now through October 31st, CustomInk will donate profits from the sales of bullying prevention t-shirts to PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center, up to $100,000, as part of the sixth annual Be Good to Each Other campaign. These T-shirts make great gifts too and are available for purchase, ranging from $12-$27.

To get involved and show your support, visit www.customink.com/stopbullying.

You can purchase the shirts here, and you can even design your own shirts here. Designing your own shirt would make a wonderful way to talk to your child about bullying prevention and being there to help others.  I know my girls would have a lot of fun designing them and would love to wear something they created!

  • What a great campaign! I send notes in my twins lunches everyday and I always remind them to be kind and look for ways to make other people smile! I want my kids to learn the important things in life like getting along, working together, standing up to bullies and cheering for the underdog!

  • I love all of these shirts and the message behind them. The Be True to Yourself one is super cute and I love that saying.

  • I really love this. The shirts are so cute and I adore the positive messages. Bullying is an issue that’s very close to me and ways to prevent it. Talking to kids about all the different kinds of people there are in the world and that everyone deserves to be themselves helps us with teaching the kids about acceptance.

  • It is something that we talk about a lot. Both my hubby and I were bullied as kids. It was worse for him than me as one bully broke his nose. I love these shirts it is a great reminder of the way we should all treat each other.

  • What a great company and an equally amazing campaign. I do believe we need to be kind to one another. I would definitely purchase a shirt from Custom Ink with a great message.

  • I love those shirts and the campaign. There is far to much judgement these days so it’s important to teach your kids to be accepting of others.

  • Bullying is a huge issue and it happens everywhere. It’s something that we really have to fight together. I love this campaign, it’s all about spreading love, kindness, and compassion.

  • Bullying has really intensified these days because of social media. It’s more important than ever to talk to your children about not becoming a bully or helping to end the bullying of others. We all need to be kinder to each other.

  • This is a great campaign. Because I am a school counselor, I appreciate this initiative especially. I love talking to my kids about ways they can be good friends and not just bystanders.

  • These tshirts are so sweet! What a great message and cause too. I love supporting great things like this! I love this, thank you for sharing!

  • Love this message so much. So funny…I was just talking to my 10 year old this morning about these topics ! Kindness is NOT overrated!!

  • I love the sayings and I LOVE that they will donate the profits from the sales of bullying prevention t-shirts to PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center! Such a great initiative!

  • These shirts are so lovely with an even more lovely message! Yes to teaching our kids about kindness and living lives that will promote love and good will towards others! What a great message to wear on your chest!

  • These shirts are great! I think each and everyone of us has experienced bullying at least once in our lives. It’s not healthy at all. I am all about supporting this campaign! We need more kindness in the world after all.

  • I think it is super important to teach children about kindness. Over the years, i have learned that kids can be mean and cruel to each other. I have told my kids that if they are bullied, they need to speak up. I don’t know if it is happening if they don’t tell me.

  • Heather:
What a nice post and glad to see that you share my enthusiasm for the @CustomInk #begoodtoeach other initiative. As I’ve worked on behalf of CustomInk’s t-shirt fundraising site for almost 3 years, I’m a strong believer in the power of clothes for good causes.
Reading your post inspires me to point you to an article I wrote for The Good News Network on Kids Teaching Grownups About Kindness.
    Thanks
