Keeping Our Energy Levels Up

Energy is  a big deal in our home. 

We are constantly on the go and we need sustainable energy that has a good flavor… crunch is always an added benefit too. We care about our health so we make sure we are always getting fresh fruits and veggies, but for energy we know we need some thing more. This is where Cheerios plays an important part in our day. 

Cheerios have always been a part of my life.

My own father had a bowl {or two} every morning for breakfast when I was growing up so it was the go-to first meal of the day for us and then once I had kids of my own they too LOVED Cheerios. It was one of their first finger foods and The Little One has a couple cups a day even now. We never leave home without a baggy of Cheerios… she eats them plain and she loves the flavor and crunch!

 

I love knowing that when we eat Cheerios the energy we get is going to last and give us that energy we need to tackle the day and make it a great one!

Here are 5 other things we do to keep up our energy level:

  1. Stay hydrated.  So important. Your body needs to be hydrated to function and even more to function at it’s best levels.
  2. Exercise. Even if you don’t feel like it, go for a walk. The most important thing is to just keep moving.
  3. Get enough sleep. Seriously. Go to sleep early and keep a regular schedule.
  4. Have healthy snacks. I think we all forget to or get too busy to eat. Don’t let that happen. Bring healthy snacks with you. Planning ahead is key.
  5. Eat whole grains like Cheerios. Whole grains lead to more energy. 

I really enjoy eating oats but sometimes I want something with a little crunch! Did you know that Cheerios was the first cereal to turn mushy oats into crunch o’s? Pretty cool right! You can learn all about the benefits of oats in cheerios here. 

There are so many ways to incorporate Cheerios into your day.

Starting with enjoying them as your daily breakfast to using them as a topping on your favorite yogurt. Sometimes you just need some crunch with your yogurt and Cheerios are the perfect addition! Let’s talk about breakfast for a moment too. Breakfast has long been known to be important, but just having a good foundation of whole grains can change the way your whole day goes. Just taking that step first thing in the morning to fuel up for energy the rest of the day can be the difference between having the energy you need to take on the day or not.
