It was a cold one!

For someone that didn’t fight any crowds today at Black Friday, I sure am tired. When I started out shopping today I really didn’t think I would get much seeing as though everyone else started hours or even a day before me. I think I still really made out!

First stop was Rite Aid. I paid for the scrunci’s first and then bought one Philips item at a time using the one before to actually pay. I spend out of pocket $5 and ended with a $5 +up… making this all free!

The older girls really wanted to experience Black Friday at Walmart. I couldn’t bare to not provide them this learning opportunity. We learned about a whole lotta things at Walmart. For instance we learned to let the crazies just go ahead before they took us out and we learned to always check our receipt after we pay. The latter was not a fun lesson. I always do a rough calculation in my head as I’m shopping. My total was about $10 more than I thought it would be. When I examined the receipt there were 2 items that I was charged for that I did not want to purchase and they were not even in my bag. I still have no idea how they got scanned. The cashier was not thrilled to have to fix the issue, but I hadn’t even waked away from the check out stand so there was no denying something was fishy. Really though a $10 overcharge adds up… and that’s my $10 not Walmarts!

I did get in on the $4.72 Pj’s for the toddler and my niece and nephew. The four movies you see were $1.99 each and then the candy canes were $.88 each. The girls can now check Black Friday at Walmart off their bucket list.

Oh my! CVS. I have 2 cards that I use. I paid $14 for all of this and I now have $35 in extra care bucks to spend. I focused on stuff we would definately use or that would make me money. Yes, I had fun. The sale goes on for one more day. If you haven’t gotten in on the action yet, head to CVS. Grab a flier. Choose what you want to buy. Now split up your purchases. I would buy $10 worth, pay the $10 and then get back in line and buy another $10 worth and pay with the extra care bucks you just got and so on. You will also end with $10 that you can use the next week. Just keep rolling that original $10 and you will be able to build up a whole stockpile for your home. Now that’s extreme couponing without the CRAZY!

Same dance, different song at Walgreen’s. I paid $7 out of pocket after starting with $6 in register rewards. I ended with $10. I also got in on this wine deal too! I really am thinking of going in and getting more wine. Wouldn’t those make a great gift {as long as they don’t taste like free wine}.

We ended up going for a hike this afternoon. By the time we got back to the car {we were only out for an hour} it was almost 5pm and it was in the 40′s. Oh My Gosh. This is SoCal. What is going on? I was sooo cold. I’m a cold weather wimp. When I saw my own breath I knew it was time to head home! On Fridays we normally go out to eat with my family and my husbands… but after all the eating going on yesterday we decided to just pick up something… and that something was right next to a CVS! I ran in and bought more stuff with the ecb’s I got earlier in the day. I still haven’t bought everything I want. Maybe tomorrow?

Now on to Thanksgiving. It was pure happiness. I love family time! We headed to my parents first where the girls and I feasted on Tofurky. It tasted as good as it looked. Now we all love Tofurky so I’m not sure what went wrong, but let’s just say we all questioned our vegetarianism after this guy was sliced and served. Oh well… at least we had each other and 50 other side dishes!

I just had to show you the kids table. It was that cute. My Mom has a taste for the Victorian Era and her house is full of antiques. I love these little chairs that overflow with the style that is her house.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and busy Black Friday! Did you score any amazing deals… I’d love to hear about them!

I want the sneakers… I need new sneakers and New Balance are my new fav's… they are so comfy. I can't wait till Cyber Monday. @Jessica- I bet staying in bed was a whole lot warmer… I was happy with the deals, but happier that the drug stores were pretty mellow… not fighting over toothpaste :-)
