Last week we were home for a whole week before we flew out again back to the East Coast.

We love to travel, but we also love to be at home. Home clearly loves having us, because we were welcomed back with absolutely perfect late spring weather. Late spring weather is something to be celebrated. It is the perfect mix of summer and spring. It has warm afternoons and cool evenings. The air in late spring is fresh, clean, and all around perfect for being outside and having fun.

fun outdoors

Emmy and Ash wanted to spend some time enjoying it, so we grabbed our two favorite outdoor toys….a soccer ball and a hula-hoop, and we set off to enjoy the afternoon. We even created a few games to play with these two things and that’s it!

outdoor games with just a ball and hula hoop

1. Kick the ball through the hoop. This seems straightforward, but it’s not so easy when the hoop is constantly moving! We started with it in one spot, and then moved it around. It’s also fun to mix it up and have the ball kicked in that direction and try to “catch” it in the hoop.  The challenge here is for the catcher and not the kicker.

2. Throw the ball through the hoop. Emmy wanted to play this one over and over again. I often forget how fun even the basic games are, and this really reminded me. I even got in on the action and tried a few shots myself.

3. Another favorite is to just place the hoop on the ground and play kick golf. We had a competition to see who could kick the ball into the hole with the least amount of kicks. We tried doing it from various lengths away. I’m not so happy to admit that the kids completely beat me on this one. It appears I’ve lost my skills! I’m going to work on bringing them back!

family time outside

A couple things I realized while we were outside playing was how good it feels to be outside just enjoying the fresh air. Also, how important it is to instill healthy habits in them while they are young. They love to make healthy choices and to be active, and I love to support them in these good choices.

Ash and Emmy have started taking L’il Critters™, the #1 Kids Gummy Vitamin brand. They are a fun and delicious way to support your kids’ healthy habits. Did you know to meet the recommended daily intake of fruits & vegetables, moderately active girls and boys would need to eat 1.5 cups of fruit and 2-3 cups of vegetables a day?ⱡ As a mom, it is important to me to make sure my kids are eating healthy. But sometimes a busy on-the-go lifestyle, or having a child who is a picky eater, makes it difficult to ensure he/she/they have received adequate nutrition.

L’il Critters™ gummy vitamins help establish healthy habits, provide essential nutrients, are great tasting, and are made with natural fruit flavors and colors derived from fruits, vegetables, and plants. I feel like every step I take to help my girls to be their healthiest is a step towards a better life for them now and in the future. Fresh air, getting our bodies moving, and making good nutritional choices all play into that. Plus, I make it all feel like fun!

How are you celebrating the snow finally leaving and late spring’s arrival?

  • It’s so true that there are so many games that you can make up with a few simple items! We also love Little Critters in our home!

  • L’il Critter gummy vitamins sound like a great product for any kid. I love the idea of the hula hoop and the ball for the kids playing outside. When we were kids we never thought of this idea that would be a lot of fun.

  • This looks like a fun way to enjoy this nice weather. I will have to do this when my niece comes over. We have been going to beach and the local theme parks.

  • Now that it’s finally Spring weather here in Canada I am loving it. We are making trips to the park a regular thing, we are playing in the backyard more and of course the kiddy pool and jumping castle!

  • It has been warm here in Las Vegas for months now, but we are still savoring as much outside time as possible before the brutal summer heat arrives. These simple activities look like fun!

  • We love that it is finally warm enough for outdoor play. My girls have been out for hours every day and I love that they are getting in so much fresh air and exercise. These gummies sound great!

  • My daughter loves hoola hooping!!!! She has several and we always go outside on warmer days to play with them 🙂

  • When my grandchildren are old enough to take these gummy vitamins, I will ask my daughter to get it for them. The only problem I could think of is that they might want to ask for more than is required in a day.

  • I am not familiar with the vitamin’s brand but you kid looks so lovely and healthy! Maybe, I should try it.

  • Vitamins are always a great idea to keep energized throughout the day. My daughter loves hoola hooping. She used to be very active in sports, and vitamins were a must.

  • Hula Hooping is a great way to exercise. My Sister uses a exercise hoop to work out and she is getting great results. It burns up to seven calories a min.

  • Ah the simple things in life. Going outside and playing! Kids get sucked into technology, the outdoors get forgotten. Love these great ideas for summer play outside!

  • I agree, the late spring weather is such a wonderful atmosphere to enjoy & a soccer ball and a hula-hoop will be definitely more fun. I love how you tried out new games combining both of them & I am sure you had a wonderful time. My kids would love L’il Critters as they take vitamins regularly.

  • I am so glad the nice weather is finally upon us! Looks like your kids are making good use of the great weather this spring.

  • I went into a retail store that had hula hoops out over Memorial Day Weekend. I have never been very good with them, but we started playing with them and everyone in the store including the security guards started egging us on, pretty soon everyone in the shop was playing with them and even the employees were all laughing, there is just something about sunny days and hula hoops!
