Our dog Rufus is more than a pet to us, he is a member of our family!

Growing up our family wasn’t a “dog” family until our dog Buddy found us. Yep, he found us. We were not looking for a dog and my mom had told us over and over again that we didn’t have time to take care of a dog. Then one day my dad had a dog start coming to his office. My dad fed him and after a week or so of looking for his owner, Buddy was brought home and we became a dog-owning family. It was awesome!

Ever since then, I have always owned a dog. Pete too has had a dog in his life for as long as he can remember. Our sweet doggy Rufus has been a member of our family since our big girls were little and we can’t imagine life without him. He is 14 years old now and just as energetic (most of the time) as he was when he was a puppy. He is Emmy’s best bud and outdoor protector and playmate. I love watching their bond.

With so much doggy love in our life, I am so excited to see the new movie, A Dog’s Purpose in theaters January 27th!

  • I love my little fur babies so much. I really think their purpose in life was to bring me happiness. I hope that I have been able to bring some happiness into their lives as well.

  • I never thought I would own a dog , ever! Our little puppy kind of feel in our laps one day – my kids adore her and I am glad we have her now.

  • My son loves animals. We’ve had a few dogs throughout the years. We don’t have one right now, but my son enjoys reading books about dogs and watching movies about dogs. I think he would enjoy both the book and the movie.

  • I’m so excited to see this! I just hope it doesn’t have a sad ending as all dog movies usually end up reducing me to tears! I’m such a softie haha

  • I cannot wait to see this movie! I have seen the previews and it looks very good. I feel like it will be a tear jerker!

  • I so can’t wait for this movie to come out! I have also had a dog my entire life and love animals of all kinds. The funny thing is, our dog Jackie, adopted my husband. We have no clue how she really is, the guess would be about 5 or 6 now. She is most definitely a part of the family.

  • I grew up with dogs and have so many great memories because of it. I adopted a rescue pup about 7 years ago and it was the best thing I ever did. Sadly, she became gravely ill one night and I lost her. I still miss her everyday, and hope to get a new rescue pup soon. Luckily, I have my parents dog and my sister’s put to enjoy until that time.

  • I grew up having a dog and loved it. Now that I have my on kids I would love to get a dog in the next few years. This movie looks great and I’m excited to see it. I already know it’s going to make me what to get a dog that much sooner. 🙂

  • I’ve always loved dogs. Growing up my family had a dog and when I got married, my husband and I adopted a dog. He’s like our child. I don’t think I can watch this movie though because I’d probably cry like a baby the whole time lol

  • Oh my! I read this book on the plane early January. Picked it up on a whim because I’m a sucker for dog stories, and had no idea they were making a film! YES I’ll be watching it!

  • I can not wait to see this movie! I have seen so many good things about it and I think that it would be a great family film to go see.

  • I’ve heard the book and the movie are wonderful. I can’t decide if I should read the book first or just go ahead and see the movie. We’re definitely a dog family and I can’t wait to make the poster with our dog in it! Thanks for that link!

  • Oooo this definitely sounds like one awesome movie!!! We just love our furbabies to death!!!

  • I had a dog growing up and want one when the boys get a bit older. We also need to make sure we have enough space that it can get enough exercise. It might be awhile before we can find a bigger more dog friendly place.

  • Biggest dog lover over here and get teary watching the previews for this. It’s for sure to be a great one… Hopefully I can get through it without so many tears!

  • The trailer looked super cute for this film! I just hope the recent controversy with PETA doesn’t damage it too much. I’m finding all the perspectives on the issue very interesting.

  • My kids just saw this trailer and have been begging me to take them to the theaters! I don’t know if I can though! I’ll be crying my eyes out!

  • Oh I’ve seen the previews. This film looks very interesting and sure has a different perspective on what a dog’s purpose here on earth is. Can’t wait to watch it
