It was a cold one!

For someone that didn't fight any crowds today at Black Friday, I sure am tired. When I started out shopping today I really didn't think I would get much seeing as though everyone else started hours or even a day before me. I think I still really made out!First stop was Rite Aid. I paid for the scrunci's first and then bought one Philips item at a time using the one before to actually pay. I spend out of pocket $5 and ended with a $5 +up... making this all free! The older girls really wanted to experience Black Friday at Walmart. I couldn't bare to not provide them this learning opportunity. We learned about a whole lotta things at Walmart. For instance we learned to let the crazies just go ahead before they took us out and we learned to always check our receipt after we pay. The latter was not a fun lesson. I always do a rough calculation in my head as I'm shopping. My total was about $10 more than I thought it would be. When I examined the receipt there were 2 items that I was charged … [Read more...]

Made Money at Target: Not sure it was worth the effort

Hi Coupon Friends! This was supposed to be a super-dooper easy Target trip... not so much... I do think it was worth it though! What do you think? Worth the extra effort or not? Here is how the deal ended up looking: (4) Febreze Noticeables Warmers @ $2.50 Each (1) Febreze Air Effects Spray @ $2.50Total $12.50 - (4) $3/1 Febreze Noticeables Warmer (PG 8/28) {deducted @ $2.50 each) - (1) $1/1 Febreze Air Effects (PG 8/28) Pay $1.50Got a $5 Target Gift Card making this a $3.50 money maker It should have been really easy, right? Well the computers took off $3 for the first 3 coupon and then wouldn't take the last $3 or the $1. The front end supervisor lacked in customer service care... and I was offered either to use my coupons or to get the gift cards... but not both. I thanked him for his lack of help {not really, I just acted confused and said I would pay at the customer service desk} and the educated {she knew how to ring this up perfectly} girl scanned a warmer and then a … [Read more...]

Loving Overage At Walmart… So much for free!

Wow! Can you say fun? I can. It sounds like W-A-L-M-A-R-T. I tested out the new coupon policy that says that you can use a coupon that is more than the cost of the item and the overage can be applied to the rest of your purchases. Actually it says that "change can be given" or applied to "basket purchase". I did a quick trip on Sunday. All of my coupons went through super easy. Each coupon does prompt the cashier to verify that the coupon is the amount the computer thinks it is, but that's it. Nice and easy! I chose to buy enough stuff to use up the overage. I wouldn't feel good getting actual cash back. I'm trying to keep my transaction smooth. I hope that Walmart doesn't change their mind... and I can see it happening really quick if Walmart is giving actual cash back instead of it just being used to pay for the rest of your items. Just my 2cents.I also made sure I followed some other "rules" that our outlined in the coupon policy. I made sure that the coupon value was less than $50 … [Read more...]

Super Cheap Lean Cuisine Meals at Walmart $.98

Update! This deal is no longer available... I still don't know why Walmart had them at that super cheap price... but, there are still other ways to get a good deal on Lean Cuisine meals. Here is how to but cheap lean cuisine meals: 1. Check for coupons. There are often coupons available that you can print. Here are my 2 favorite coupon sites: We were doing a quick Walmart run on Sunday... needed a few things for the office. Glad I randomly walked through the frozen food isle. 75% of the Lean Cuisine meals were $.98 {no coupon needed}. Needless to say I stocked up! In fact I just finished eating one now for breakfast {lol}. If you are headed to Walmart it might be a good idea to see if your store is having the same sale. (this was the store on hwy 76 in Oceanside) … [Read more...]

Cheap Trash Bags!

I went to WalMart tonight and bought 16 boxes of trash bags. Good times, good times...#1 I lost track of how many people commented about my shopping card full o' trash bags. Really it was a zoo there and people still took the time to make comments. Here are a few of my favorites."Boy, you must have a lot of yard work to do today". I just smiled, but I wanted to say... "Hmm, it's raining cats and dogs, I'm definitely not doing yard work, but okay"."My God (grabbing her stomach, like she was ill), what are you doing with all those bags?" Well, glad you asked, I actually said... My husband really pissed me off. And then I just stared at her. Then she asked if I was going to load all of his stuff into the bags. I did not respond. I just winked. That was too much fun!#2 Favorite moment at Walmart was at the checkout counter. I handed over my coupons and I said these are for all of the trash bags. I don't know if it's a regional thing, but I call them trash bags. Well, the coupon said $2 off … [Read more...]

Walmart Shopping Trip With Free Item Coupons

I've been saving up some free item coupons and I decided to pop into Walmart to use some of them. Sounds easy enough, right? It actually wasn't too bad. I was buying 2 cans of formula and 11 jars of baby food. The cashier became really nervous once I handed her my coupons and called over a supervisor. The Supervisor apologized and said that she was told there is a limit of 2 like coupons per person per day. New to me. I asked if it was just for free item coupons, and she said no any coupons... but she let me use them all and initialed them for the cashier who told me about 50 times that she did not feel right about these coupons. I actually thought it was funny since these were the full color, glossy paper with foil accents. Not something that could be copied or reproduced. I also stopped at CVS to scan my cards and I bought a can of formula there too!
