I love the holiday season and I try to celebrate it with little acts of kindness.
They don’t have to be anything crazy, in fact I think they are almost better when they make someone’s life better in a simple way, like adding some money to a meter (that just ran out of money) so that they don’t get a parking ticket. Something really easy to do, but that reminds others that you care and wish them well!
When we were up in Pacific Grove there were meters everywhere.
I made it my mission (with Pete’s help) to look for expired meters and then we added money to buy them some time. We felt like we were on a secret mission to spread some cheer! I love getting little surprises like this so I hope it warmed other’s hearts too!
I came prepared with lots of quarters, sticky notes and #BlueSkiesBlue BIC Mark-It™ to spread some #BICMerryMarking cheer!
I pre-filled some notes and started filling meters with coins.
It was so much fun! We dropped in coins, added a note and kept on going until we made sure the whole block was good to go!You can create your own act of kindness with BIC Mark-It™permanent markers.
Their permanent markers offer 44 vibrant, long lasting colors for endless inspiration!
The bold, fade-resistant ink is low odor and acid free (no added acid and no measurable pH) so you don’t need to worry and they are totally family friendly too! That is awesome! I love random acts of kindness, and am definitely doing this!
Great way to spread the kindness! Keep up the great work!
I love when people do this, but not to be a stick-in-the-mud, did you realize most cities have ordinances that make doing this illegal?
I think THIS is going to be my new favorite holiday tradition. This is what the holidays is all about!
Aww oh my goodness, this is such an amazing idea! Love the idea of paying it forward, especially sweet for the holidays. 😉
These are really nice markers. I love what you did with them, too. That’s such a sweet thing to do.
This makes my heart swell! What a wonderful idea–I think I may just have to borrow that! Merry Christmas!

This is a great idea. I love the thought of doing small things to make someone’s day and just leaving a little note.
I think that was very sweet to fill up a meeter so the person dose not get a ticket. I love the blue on blue with the blue bic and it’s on the blue post it note. Usually the two colors don’t show up well together but bic makes lot’s of pretty colors for the markers.
What a great idea to add money to expired meters! I am sure you made a few people’s day!

That’s a good idea! No meters around here, but I’m sure I can find something else along the same lines!
One of my favorite giving holiday traditions is to pick a few elderly people from the Christmas trees that stores have set up and buy them gifts.
You’re so right that it’s little things like this that can truly make someone’s day. That’s so thoughtful!
I love BIC pens and use them often for craft projects. I am glad to see I am not the only one that will throw doe change in a parking meter!
I love this idea and it was very generous of you to refill their meters. What a great way to make someone’s day. I hope they loved the little note of surprise.

This is super cute idea. Pay it forward and just do something nice. We cannot even do it here because we don’t really have meters anymore just machines and little slips. 🙁
OMG my daughter would love this! She loves Thomas the Train so much. We go to Barnes and Noble all the time to play with trains.
I love how you did that, this is something I’d surely do myself!

My favorite holiday tradition is when my husband and I serve food to the homeless. We did it for years while we were dating and it was very rewarding.
Love the Bic colors! What a great thing to do for someone!
What a sweet thing to do. I feel like I always need a good market sometimes when I’m out and I never have one in my car or in my purse. Maybe I’ll buy a pack of these for my car and put a few in my purse, too.
What a lovely idea! I also love the Holidays and the opportunity it gives to give to others and make them happy!
What a great idea and I’m sure by doing that it made someone’s day. I wish someone would put money in my meter when it ran out.
I love Bic markers, they work just as good or better than sharpies! That blue is really pretty 🙂
What a wonderful festive gesture. I am sure the person which meter run out will be talking about it to everyone.
I love, love, love this. Hubs and I don’t have a lot to give, but every year we find ways to do random acts of kindness and pay it forward type things. Over the years we’ve done so many and I often think about them and wonder what they thought about what they did, how it changed their day, and if they helped out someone else.
