Quick Ralph’s Heads Up!

Yesterday we had an epic {total exaggeration} shopping day. We hit a few of our favorite spots. One of which was Ralph's. I've been hearing reports that Ralph's is no longer doubling more than one like coupon {they've been doubling unlimited here}. I ventured to the most coupon friendly one around and made a go at it.The soft packs of wipes where on sale for $1.49 after the Cars buy 5 get $5 off. I bought 10 and used 10 $.50 coupons. Only 1 doubled {insert disappointed face}.I know some stores are still doing unlimited doubling, just not mine. If they had these would have been $.49 each. I'm still okay with $.99 and the best news is that I won't ever have to buy anymore wipes. These should last us through potty training!Does anyone else love using baby wipes for hands and such when you are out and about? I might keep buying them for a few years... till the baby is 3 or so because I love them that much for other things.The trip wasn't a total bust though. They have a sale through … [Read more...]

Sunday Morning Talk: Crazy Confession

So a few years ago I took a picture of this house. We always would pass it and say something along the lines of "don't want to be there during an earthquake". I mean look at that really big boulder above the house. Who builds a house there?Before I go calling them crazy I thought I'd share a secret with you guys. You all are really good with keeping secrets right?Crazy Confession: As much as I love to garden, I have a really big problem eating what I grow. I get quite attached to the little veggies as they grow and it feels like I'm eating my young when I eat a tomato that I've watered and loved for weeks or months.Can anyone relate? Am I the person who builds a house under a huge builder on the side of a hill?Definitely not my house... but maybe a long lost sisters?On to coupons... I wasn't that thrilled with today's inserts. I'm still planning on buying more than one because inevitably I'll need a coupon from those inserts for some scenario in the future!I am still loving the … [Read more...]
Has It Come To This?
Hi Coupon Friends,Ready for another lost hit of the 80's? How about "Into The Night" by Benny Mardones. Confession time. I had never heard of him before. I mean I {heart} this song big time, but I never knew who sang it and his name did not ring a bell- at all. Sorry Benny, still love the song!So for some reason this song felt right to talk about my Sunday morning newspaper buying run.I shared before that my buddy at Dollar Tree no longer works there. He's moved on to a new college and although I'm happy for him I will miss him. He was a nice young man and I loved seeing how excited he was for the future... and he was funny. It was a good way to shop, especially when you are the only one in line buying 11 newspapers.So it's been a bit different the last couple Sundays. This past Sunday I couldn't find the newspapers. Knowing that they keep them in the tall racks, I felt like I was loosing my mind. Finally I spotted them next to the cashier. I watched a man go up and grab one and then … [Read more...]

Money Discussion: School Edition
Hi Coupon Friends,A few of us have colds {the baby included which makes me go into Mommy worry overload} so I decided to take a break today and just do nothing. By nothing I mean hang out at home, in sweats and let the Cheerios pile up on the floor as they are the little ones favorite snack. I'm sure I'll freak out by evening and clean them up... but for now they will lay on the floor and I don't care {I totally do but I'm pretended I don't}. I'm just glad the Queen of England isn't stopping by my house today.It's nap time so I have a few minutes and I wanted to see how you all feel about something that's been driving me crazy. Public schools and moneyHere are my "issues".#1 The schools only get paid for the children that are actually at the school based on the daily role call. This seems good in theory. Practically it is not. As a child with a chronic illness {asthma}that turns a common cold into something a whole lot more serious... this can be catastrophic. I refuse to send my … [Read more...]
I {HEART} nice purses! {$345 for $110}

See I told you guys I like the good stuff. I'm not really a "purse" person. I don't buy a bunch of them. I tend to have the one I use and that's it. Since I only use one purse I buy the good quality ones as they last and last and last!Here's the story of this Dooney & Bourke purse {set to the theme song of the Brady Bunch}.I didn't really need a new purse when I bought this one. The purse I had then {also a D&B} was just fine. However, when I stumbled upon this beauty I had to pause and do the math. You see there was a table in the front of the Dooney & Bourke Outlet that had a rather large sign that said something to the effect of "additional 60% off sale". What? 60% off the already reduced price...Reg $345Sale $27660% off $110.40SOLD!I'm always on the look out for a good deal and I've found it's good to buy something before you need it than to rush out and pay full price when you do! … [Read more...]
