We have had an amazing summer full of adventures!
We explored beaches and saw amazing wildlife and just enjoyed nature together as a family. From long walks by the ocean to watching dolphins swim by, we love nature and spending time outdoors! We always create a summer bucket list of places and adventures we want to take, but we still end up coming back to a couple old favorites each summer. They have become a summer tradition for us and I love creating these types of memories with my girls.
There is just something really special about making memories each year in the same place and we all look forward to our annual visits. This year we discovered tide pools and my little one thought it was the coolest thing she has ever seen. It’s so much fun discovering new things with her and her favorite places to be together as a family are always by the ocean so this was a really big deal to her!
I’ve been looking for a place to visit each fall. Somewhere we can call our own special place each year.
We love having a summer place to visit and it would be equally as awesome to have a place like that in the fall too! Somewhere we can come back to each year even when the girls have families of their own. I found that in Gulf County
Gulf County is an outdoor playground… exactly what we are looking for! There are 43 miles of natural shoreline to go for long beach walks on! With white sand and tons of wildlife to discover it really is the perfect place for outdoor family adventures. I especially love that there is something for each of the kids. Having a teen, tween and preschooler it’s fun when they can all be having fun at the same time. I imagine me and the little one playing in the soft white sand while Pete and the older two go on a boating adventure. Or maybe we all just enjoy a slow walk on the beach at sunset! Gulf County is known for their beautiful sunsets! Either way, it sounds amazing!
With so much outdoor fun to be had in Gulf County, we could stay busy for months… but I know that we would spend our first days visiting, riding bikes seaside, going snorkeling and enjoying some stand-up paddleboarding as a family. If you are like us and your pets are more like a family member than a pet you will love that the beaches in Gulf County are consistently ranked in the top ten US beaches to bring your pets on vacation with you. Pretty cool right? Leashed pets are welcome all the time on the beaches and most rental properties will throw out the red carpet for your furry friends!
Gulf County really is a laid back outdoor paradise for family vacations.

We go to Florida every year, but we do Disney. I would love to see this part of the state.
Looks absolutely gorgeous. We really didn’t travel much this summer, limited budget and all.
These pictures are absolutely beautiful! Me and my family love going to Florida as well 🙂 Looks like you had a great time and it’s another place you can call home
We tend to go to different places for our big vacations and familiar places for shorter getaways. We have lived north of Atlanta for fours years, I would like to explore Savannah as a family ‘go to’ place. In the Gulf, we love Dauphin Island, Alabama. It’s hard to beat a quiet beach, a house on stilts with waves lapping lapping underneath at night, and an Gulf side deck pool for relaxing.
Such beautiful photos. I love it!
Wow, your photos are beautiful. Definitely makes me want to visit with the fam too! Glad leashed pets are welcome 🙂
Absolutely beautiful photos! I would say you’ve found the perfect place to go every fall! 🙂 I was really thrown by the first photo few photos. I’m not used to seeing rocks like that, except for on the west coast. I thought for sure you were off the coast of Cali somewhere – love it! 🙂
What beautiful place! My family would truly enjoy it!
What a beautiful vacation spot you found! I have never vacationed on the Gulf, but love all of the commercials. Very enticing!
Sounds like just the kind of place we would love visiting!

Always wanted to visit the other side of my own state, guess it is time to leave the Atlantic Coast in N.E. Florida and check out the site in the Gulf Coast area.
Great pictures. We have not taken the kids on the gulf side yet – still exploring the eastern coast and of course Orlando.
I would love to spend the day riding my bike seaside and then walking along the beach, There is something so comforting and relaxing about walking on the beach and feeling the sand between your toes.
Looks beautiful! I looove the beach – big or small, they’re my favorite places to spend summers!
It looks like you guys had a blast! Great post!
This looks like so much fun! I cannot wait until my babies are a little older so we can start doing some of the more active activities. We love getting out there as much as possible already!
